Guided Troubleshooting

Fix Common Issues

Start here before requesting a return. Most fit, operation, and motor issues can be resolved with a few quick checks.

Check that both brackets are level and fully snapped. Then:

  1. Confirm the headrail is clicked into both brackets.
  2. For spring-assist shades, roll the fabric up fully 2–3 turns to re-tension.
  3. Make sure fabric is not catching on the frame or valance.

Uneven travel usually means bracket height is off or the tube needs leveling.

  1. Use a level across both brackets and adjust the higher/lower bracket.
  2. Fully raise the shade, then lower it slowly to check tracking.
  3. For zebra shades, cycle fully open/closed twice to realign bands.

Try these checks before requesting a replacement remote:

  1. Replace remote batteries and stand within 10 ft of the shade.
  2. Confirm the shade has power (battery pack charged or hardwire live).
  3. Re-pair the remote using the pairing steps in the Motorized Shade Manual.
  4. Reset travel limits if the motor beeps but does not move.

See our video tutorials for a pairing walkthrough.

Custom shades are built to the sizes submitted at checkout.

  1. Compare the size label on the box/headrail to your order confirmation.
  2. Review our measuring guide for inside vs outside mount.
  3. If manufacturing does not match your submitted dimensions, start a warranty claim with photos and your order number.

This is common with tightly packed custom fabric and usually resolves quickly.

  1. Hang the shade and leave it fully down for 24–48 hours.
  2. Use low steam from a distance (do not soak) for stubborn creases.
  3. Air the room — packaging odor typically fades within a few days.

If a defect remains (delamination, tear, dye issue), contact support with close-up photos.
